Reut, 24, anorexic for 3 years, participant of Project 2020
“She stopped coming to the army dining room and used to bring only the food her mom made, the food she loved so much, until she stopped bringing it.
She used to fast for days, coming home for the weekend and eats a small meal once a day, one only she made.
In few months she weighted 35 kg and when she felt she was losing control, she went to the army psychologist and from there to the eating disorder department in the hospital.
There she met the truth of her sickness for the first time. One of the girls there told her she is really jealous of her, when she asked why, she told her because she looks like a skeleton. At that point she realized the true meaning of her condition: on one hand she was shocked, on the other hand, she took it as a compliment.”
